Ed Schroll (Fall 2014)

Ed Schroll is a resident of Ocean Shores, WA, where he is a board member for the Associated Arts of Ocean Shores and a member of the Harbor Art Guild. Since his retirement in 2012, which has allowed him to pursue his photography full-time, Ed has won the prestigious Thomas Studio Gallery Award in 2013 and the Award of Excellence in 2014 at the Lakefair Juried Art Show.

Ed was named chairperson for the 2014 photography portion of the Fine Arts and Photography Show (hosted by the Associated Arts of Ocean Shores), and won the 2013 Aberdeen Art Walk poster contest. Before retiring, Ed worked for multiple years as a staff photographer for the Gorge Games in Hood River, OR, the Iditarod Dogsled Race in Alaska, and for Cotton Inc. in Los Angeles. Ed enjoys capturing people in moments of their lives that are uniquely different from the day-to-day tasks of most.

Although he primarily shoots digital, he continues to shoot and develop his own B&W prints at his in-home darkroom. Alongside his photography, Ed’s passions include his family, travelling, and supporting the Caring for Poor and Orphaned Children Foundation in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
