Terry Davenport (Spring 2014)

About the Artist

Terry is a registered nurse, who lives in Aberdeen, and paints watercolors in her time off from visiting clients for Harbors Home Health and Hospice. Part Alaska native, part Norwegian/Russian, she was born in Washington, but grew up in Wrangell, Alaska.

Terry, a mother and grandmother, comes from a family who love fishing and hunting, and has spent a number of years trolling commercially in Southeast Alaska. Terry moved to Aberdeen to attend Grays Harbor College nursing program in the early nineties, fell in love with the area and stayed. She began taking watercolors with John Wyatt while in nursing school, and has also taken classes from artist Roy Lowry and Stan Miller. Terry loves and is inspired by the rugged beauty and the industrious, outdoorsy lifestyle of the Pacific Northwest. Her recent works are of close family members.
