I grew up the only child of an artist, learning and appreciating art, always believing I am an artist.
The methods and techniques of the Old Masters have been an important part of my art for 40 years. I try to create a masterpiece with every work, a work that transcends to the mysterious, the sublimely beautiful. Painting in oils gives me the greatest chance of painting beautiful pictures which stir the soul and cause the viewer emotions akin to listening to great music. All of us see and observe, but an artist needs to perceive with a larger vision, a coming together of all one’s emotional, intellectual and intuitive knowledge.
My hope is to create paintings of beauty and power which affect the viewer, but I paint for what affects me. I am very fortunate to be able to do so.
