Carrie Larson (Spring 2014)

About the Artist

Carrie L. Larson is a visual artist who currently calls Hoquiam, Washington home. She has lived in the Northwest for most of her life, completing her secondary education in Aberdeen and earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993 from Whitman College in Walla Walla, where she was privileged to study art under Keiko Hara.

Recently she exhibited a body of work—begun during residency at Sitka Center for Art & Ecology—in a solo show at Grays Harbor College, while one of her artist’s books, Red, Revisited, was included in Lark Crafts publication, 500 Handmade Books, Volume 2.

Carrie practices her calling from a chaotic home studio, enjoying the company of husband John and a couple of cats, who like to investigate works in progress. The use of a well-worn library card, as well as frequent tromps alongside the Chehalis River, helps fuel her inspiration.
